July 31, 2006 Colorado Riders Take Notice!!!

The article below appeared in the Thursday edition of the Rocky Mountain News; additionally, it has been latched onto by other print media in Colorado (to include the Mountain Mail in Salida) and television reporting on various stations in Denver and throughout the state. Terry Howard, A.I.M. attorney Wade Eldridge, and myself have responded to the Rocky in "Letters to the Editor."  A copy of my response is posted below this article.

We should all take exception to what has been proffered up to the public as "fact", but damage has been done yet again to motorcyclists, and the fallout is that the publics' emotions will be further stoked by what they perceive as truth in reporting that motorcyclists are untrained, lack skills, and therefore are irresponsible.

Please forward this communication to all on your distro list, and most certainly the motorcyclists you know. Everyone is encouraged to respond to the media as individuals; your input should not be representative as a formal position of ABATE of Colorado, as your State officers have already done so in defense of motorcyclists, our members, and on behalf of the organization.
